Trinity

Here’s the first photo taken of Melinda’s daughter and me! I did this layout using a beautiful new kit from Captivated Visions called “Sweet as Mallow”. I have to say the papers from the kit are irresistible! (but then so are the elements and alpha!).

I couldn’t decide whether I liked the brown background or the pink background more!

Phuket, August 2003

I just love this new kit from Rachel over at Captivating Visions! The combination of the blues, whites and reds make it so versatile and I had a hard time choosing which photo to use as there were so many possibilities! (btw, the kit is called “Where Bluebirds Fly”. I’ve used the Paper pack and the Elements pack).

Anyway, I decided to head back to 2003 to a lovely photo of a beach on Phi Phi Island (Thailand) that I had always wanted to scrapbook but just never seemed to have the time!

Here’s my layout!

Remember This!

Another layout from my class. I love how I’m running out of photos to scrapbook! This has never been a problem before!

So, back in time to 2003. Has it really been that long???

Clean and Simple

So, I’ve started my class and it’s fabulous! I love it! (in case you missed my last post I’m doing the “Design Your Life” class with Cathy Zielske over at “BigPictureScrapbooking”. Would you believe, there are over 1,000 students taking this year’s class. Unbelievable.

Anyway… templates just really aren’t my style. We are learning so much and I completely don’t mind doing the layouts from the templates included, but they just don’t look like me. They look like very simple traditional scrapbooking done digitally. I had never thought about how my scrapbooking is different when I do it digitally, but it is. Having said that, I think I’ll probably start using EVERYTHING I learn in this class in my scrapbooking. Cathy is phenomenal and is an amazing teacher.

Anyway, here are a few layouts from the class.

The Day After

Ah, life is good when you get to scrapbook such lovely memories!

I'm Taking a Class!

I am so busy I usually don’t have time to do all the things I love, like taking online classes! But browsing through the web a few days ago I happened across ‘The Big Picture’ site and saw they had the ‘Design Your Life’ online class starting at the end of this month! I couldn’t resist and just had to sign up. Before the class actually starts, we have a few ‘pre-class’ assignments to do. One of them was this layout! What fun!

A Quick Layout

I bought a new kit yesterday and love it! It’s a kit by Designs by Lili called, “This Thing Called Love”. I planned on doing a page about a day we got caught in the rain at the beach, but I pulled the wrong photo onto my layout and it turned into a layout about my 11 month old whippet called Harry. Enjoy!

A Few New Layouts

I bought a new kit from Designs by Lili called “Capture the Magic”. It’s great! I did a couple of layouts using this kit. For the first page I focused on my favourite photo and in the second layout I tried to include as many photos as possible.

My New Online Gallery…

I have always resisted the urge to put my layouts in an online gallery – but I have finally given in. I visit so many stores I decided I would go for joining the DST community and I love it so far.

So, click HERE to be whisked away to my new tiny layout gallery! And just incase you don’t make it, here is my latest layout!

Old Layouts

When I first started to do digital scrapbooking, I used ACDSee. It was cheap, highly recommended, and has a great organisation system. I personally felt I made the wrong decision and should have gone for Adobe Elements – and I finally did! 3 months later I changed, again, to Photoshop CS3 and haven’t looked back since!

But anyway – because I used ACDSee, ALL of my layouts from back then are unavailable to me now. I didn’t save them as JPEGs and I now work on a MacBookPro and, as ACDSee isn’t MAC compatible, I have lost all my layouts until I find a PC, with ACDSee, and save them all as JPEGs.

This has always upset me and I feel like kicking myself for not re-saving them before I switched to my Mac – BUT… this week I found a handful of my old layouts that I could open in Photoshop!!! Yay!!! They are old and so aren’t the best – but I remember even back then trying to design my own items because I could never find the perfect paper or the perfect element! It just seemed so much easier to make it all myself =)

Anyway, I thought I would post them here so I never lose them again! And of course they bring back good memories!
